As an Authorised Representative, you are entrusted with important responsibilities:

  • Access and review will documents when needed
  • Download and use documents for execution purposes
  • Make authorized decisions on behalf of the Will Owner when necessary
  • Coordinate with other representatives if there are multiple designated individuals

How the Invitation Process Works

When someone designates you as their Authorised Representative, you'll receive an email invitation. Here's what to expect:

Step 1: Receive Email Invitation

You'll receive an email with details about your invitation, including who designated you and what the role entails.

Step 2: Create Account or Login

New users: The email will include a temporary password. Use it to create your account and change your password immediately after login.

Existing users: You'll receive a magic link to log in directly.

Step 3: Accept Invitation

Navigate to Dashboard → Responsibilities and click "Accept Invitation" to confirm your role.

Time-Sensitive

Invitations expire after 7 days. If your invitation expires, contact the person who sent it to request a new one.

What You Can Do as an Authorised Representative

Once you've accepted your invitation, you'll have access to specific capabilities designed to help you fulfill your role effectively.

Access Will Documents

View all registered will document locations and access uploaded files, including PDFs, images, and supporting documents.

Download Files

Download documents for execution purposes, allowing you to act on behalf of the Will Owner when needed.

View Updates

See when documents were last updated to stay informed about any changes to the will or estate planning documents.

Coordinate with Others

If multiple representatives are designated, you can see who else has access and coordinate your efforts accordingly.

Limitations and Security Boundaries

To maintain security and respect the Will Owner's wishes, there are specific limitations to your access:

  1. Invitation-Only Access: You must receive and accept an invitation. You cannot request this role directly.
  2. Time-Limited Invitation: Invitations expire after 7 days. You must accept within this timeframe.
  3. View-Only Until Accepted: You cannot access any documents until you've formally accepted the invitation.
  4. Subscription Limits: The Will Owner's subscription determines how many representatives can be designated.
  5. No Document Modification: You can view and download documents but cannot edit or delete the Will Owner's records.

All data is protected with industry-standard encryption. Your access is logged and monitored to ensure the Will Owner's information remains secure.
